A Totem ring network ( ) includes Totem rings ( ) which are geographically separated by relatively long distances. Time latencies between the geographically separated Totem rings ( ) are minimized by providing each Totem ring with a dedicated router ( ) located geographically proximate to a respective Totem ring.
