Abstract
A template is brought close to or in contact with a surface to be patterned and patterns are formed with liquid on the surface . This method comprises the steps of: bringing the template close to or essentially in contact with the surface , supplying liquid to a plurality of through holes established in the pattern transfer region of the template for supplying the liquid , and separating the template from the surface after the liquid is adhered to the surface via the through holes
