A filler ( ) is envisioned which comprises glass-based granules ( ) provided with a sizing composition, in which filler each of the granules ( ) consists of a multiplicity of milled glass fragments ( ) agglomerated together by the agency of a sizing composition ( ) containing especially a compound chosen from esters of alkylsilicic acids, particularly an aminosilane. The process comprises a milling step ( ) during which the glassy material is comminuted into fragments by this milling, a metering step ( ) during which a mixture including the fragments ( ) and the sizing composition ( ) is formed and an agglomeration step ( ) during which the mixture is dried so as to form granules each including a multiplicity of fragments ( ) and dried parts of the sizing composition ( ).
