A high frequency inductor includes a high permeability core, and at least one winding ( ), having at least one winding layer ( ). The core ( ) exhibits at least one air-gap arranged within the at least one winding ( ), whereat the at least one air-gap separates the core into at least two parts ( ) and that a screen ( ) is arranged around the at least one gap ( ), between the winding ( ) and the gap ( ). The screen is essentially concentric with the winding, and has a width which is equal to or wider than the width of the at least one gap ( ).
