Abstract
The invention is directed towards a process for the preparation of Cefuroxime acid or for a corresponding pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester. The process comprises the carbamoylation of a Cefuroxime precursor with an activated isocyanate. Additionally, the process is characterized by the fact that a carbonic C -C alkyl ester is used as a solvent for the carbamoylation reaction.
