Abstract
Peptides comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 are described wherein the amino acid at position of SEQ ID NO:1 and the amino acid at position of SEQ ID NO:1, which may be the same or different, is each a neutral aliphatic L-ammo acid residue, and protected and reactive derivatives thereof. The peptides may be used as hinge regions in proteins, wherein they are capable of being covalently coupled to achieve dimeric structures, for example, as found in antibodies.
