An internal combustion engine connecting rod capable of preventing rotation or relative slippage of a slide metal piece even if the nail of the slide metal piece is not abutted. An internal combustion engine connecting rod comprising a hole in the end of the connecting rod main body, the end being divided into a plurality of parts circumferentially of the hole, and a slide metal piece ( ) disposed on the inner peripheral surface of the hole, wherein the inner peripheral surface of the hole is provided with slits (L, L′) extending in one direction at an angle of 13-90° with respect to the circumferential direction.
