Abstract
Extendable flower pot ( ) for holding a plant comprises bottom pot ( ) and extendable upper barrel ( ). Upper barrel ( ) is adapted to nest inside bottom pot ( ). A plant is potted in flower pot ( ) in a nested position. When the plant needs more room for its roots, upper barrel ( ) is pulled to an extended position, increasing the depth and volume of pot ( ). Additional soil is then added. Rim ( ) aids gripping of upper barrel ( ) and keeps water and soil out of the gap between bottom pot ( ) and upper barrel ( ) when flower pot ( ) is in the nested position. Upper annular protrusion ( ′) and bottom annular protrusion ( ) cooperate to stop upper barrel ( ) from accidentally being pulled out of bottom pot ( ).
