Abstract
The invention concerns a method and installation for the treatment of excess sludge derived from biological wastewater treatment plants. The method is characterized in that it consists of associating at least one digestion step ( ) and at least one wet oxidation step ( ) of said sludge, said wet oxidation step being conducted at a temperature of between 50° C. and 180° C. and at a pressure of between 2 and 40 bar.
