Abstract

The invention relates to a post insulator ( ) whose surface ( ) is geometrically configured, in at least one area ( ) between an inner conductor ( ) and encapsulation ( ) for a gas-insulated switchgear assembly ( ) such that surface discharge paths ( ) are provided between the inner conductor ( ) and the encapsulation ( ) and have a subsection in the opposite direction to the bridging direction ( ). In consequence, surface discharges ( ) can be diverted in the opposite direction to an original propagation direction ( ), and come to rest by self-blocking. Exemplary embodiments relate to: an indentation ( ) which is concave and is open toward the inner conductor ( ) and/or toward the encapsulation ( ) and is formed between a cup shaped barrier ( ) and the base body ( ) of the post insulator ( ); diversion of surface discharges ( ) through up to 180° for efficient self blocking; and adhesive bonding ( ) of the barrier ( ) on a conventional post insulator ( ). The invention also relates to a gas-insulated switchgear assembly ( ) or to a switchgear assembly module having such a post insulator ( ) or partition insulator ( ).
