Abstract
A slide-out support system ( ) for a flat floor slide-out room ( ) of a recreational vehicle ( ) has ways ( ) on both sides of telescoping inner rails ( ) which present a pair of downwardly facing ramped surfaces ( ) on which rollers ( ) roll to support the room ( ). Ramped surfaces ( ) are provided on opposite sides of stationary outer rails ( ) on which rollers ( ) mounted to the inner end of the inner rails ( ) roll to also help support the room. The ramps ( ) are in registration with one another so that during extension and retraction the rails ( ) are lowered and raised while maintaining them substantially horizontal. A follower ( ) has a roller ( ) which rolls on the upper surface ( ) of the inner rail ( ) and a roller ( ) which rolls on the lower surface ( ) of the slide-out floor ( ) to lower or raise the floor ( ) as the rail ( ) is lowered or raised while maintaining the floor ( ) in a substantially constant horizontal orientation.
