Abstract
A method allows a user to specify preferences in the configuration or use of data-presentation resources. In other words, a user has the ability to specify variability in the generation of data for data-presentation on an output device. A data-processing method provides variability in the generation of data for data-presentation on an output device determining data-presentation variability parameters and by storing the data-presentation variability parameters as global generic data-presentation variability data, wherein the “global” characteristic of the global generic data-presentation variability data ensures usability as global input to all data-presentation processes, a data-presentation process being a process which generates data-presentation data, wherein the “generic data-presentation” characteristic of the global generic data-presentation variability data ensures applicability, without restriction to a physical manner of presenting the generated data-presentation data, of the global generic data-presentation variability data within each of the data-presentation processes.
