Abstract
A hood device is provided for a two-dimensionally-scanning camera . The scanning camera includes a body housing and an image pickup optical system housed in the body housing for capturing an image in the field of view. The scanning camera has a finder screen provided on the top surface of the body housing . The body housing further has a photographing window formed therein, through which environmental light may enter the image pickup optical system so as to form an image to be captured by the scanning camera . The hood device comprises a hood mechanism coupled to the body housing and movable between first and second positions. The hood mechanism , when in the first position, covers the finder screen and close the photographing window . The hood mechanism , when in the second position, uncovers the finder screen , leaves the photographing window open and partially surrounds the finder screen for shading it from environmental light.
