Abstract

A class of 1,2,3a,4,x-pentaaza-cyclopenta[a]naphthalene compounds (x=6, 7, 8 or 9) is described. The compounds have a high affinity for the GABA &agr;5 receptors and show inverse agonist activity thereat. The compounds are useful in therapy where cognition enhancement is required.
