Abstract

This invention relates to the use of enzymes for protection of plants against phytopathogenic fungi. In particular, the invention relates to the use of enzymes showing esterase activity for protecting plants against phytopathogenic fungi by inhibition of fungal appressorium formation. In addition, the invention relates to the use of recombinant pepper esterase expressed by using to protect plants against phytopathogenic fungi by inhibition of fungal appressorium formation.
