Abstract
A snowboard ( ) includes a body ( ) formed from a primary core ( ) reinforced by a structural layer ( ) that wraps the primary core. A secondary core formed from first and second binding lifter plates ( ) is disposed above the body and adhered thereto with an elastomeric layer ( ). A top layer ( ) overlies the secondary core and the exposed portions of the body to integrate the secondary core into the snowboard. The snowboard further includes a bottom layer ( ) reinforced with edge strips ( ). The integrated modular lifter plates provides additional leverage and vibration dampening at selected regions of the snowboard without significantly impacting the torsional and longitudinal flexibility of the center section ( ) of the snowboard.
