Abstract
A method and a device for destroying drifting sea mines ( ). According to the invention, a capture-and-destroy device ( ) is brought into the vicinity of the drifting sea mine ( ) with the aid of a buoyant body ( ) having a coupled-on drive system ( ) or a drive device ( ), and the mine is captured in that the sea mine ( ) is surrounded by deployment of a capture net ( ) normally located in a capture unit ( ) of the capture-and-destroy device ( ). A motorized element ( ) disposed in the capture unit ( ) draws the capture net ( ) together automatically until the captured sea mine ( ) rests directly against a destroyer unit ( ) with a destructive charge ( ). The destructive charge ( ) is then automatically detonated to destroy the mine.
