Abstract
An AV data input/output controlling circuit is connected through a data bus to a synchronous-asynchronous conversion circuit and through a control bus to a recording and reproduction controlling circuit. The AV data input/output controlling circuit inputs and outputs audio and/or video data of a normal data rate. The AV data input/output controlling circuit also inputs and outputs audio and/or video data of a higher data rate than usual. In the data recording and reproducing apparatus, audio and/or video data is transferred through a data bus synchronized with a reference synchronization signal S etc., the audio and/or video data input from an external unit is recorded in a storage device, and the audio and/or video data recorded in the storage device is reproduced and supplied to the outside.
