Abstract
A fuel injection valve for reducing carbon deposit on a passage portion between a seat portion and an injection port. The fuel injection valve includes an injection port for injecting a fuel that is arranged to face a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. A seat portion H, where a valve element comes in contact with a face of a valve seat to intermit fuel injection, is arranged at a place upstream the injection port The valve element is conical at a portion downstream the seat portion H to an inlet of the injection port The sectional area of the passage between the valve element and the face of the valve seat at the time of fully opening the valve element is arranged so that the sectional area of the passage downstream of the vicinity of the seat portion H is larger. A tapered face having a bore not more than 1/2.5 of an inner diameter of a swirl chamber of a swirler is formed on the face of the valve seat which is downstream the seat portion H.
