Abstract

An optical module, in which an optical device can be mounted and repaired without damaging an electrode on an electronic device side, is provided. A photodiode ( ) and a pre-amplifier IC ( ) are mounted on a base (stem) ( ), and except for that, a relay terminal table ( ) is provided. The photodiode ( ) and the pre-amplifier IC ( ) are connected through the relay terminal table ( ) by means of bonding wires ( ). The relay terminal table ( ) is connected via the bonding wire ( ) to an electrode ( ) of the photodiode ( ), as well as via the bonding wire ( ) to an electrode ( ) of the pre-amplifier IC ( ). In repairing the photodiode ( ) only the bonding wire ( ) is removed for re-wiring, so that the electrode ( ) of the pre-amplifier IC can be prevented from being damaged.
