Abstract

A female housing ( ) has a rear side formed with a lever pocket ( ). A cover ( ) has a projection ( ) that can be mounted into the lever pocket ( ) along with a lever ( ). The lever has a cantilevered elastic latch ( ) with a latch projection ( ) that can engage a mateable latch ( ) on the projection . The lever ( ) has an engaging projection ( ) that is opposed to a release rib-advancing slot ( ) and adapted to receive a releasing rib ( ). When the housings ( ) and ( ) are coupled to each other into a given depth, the releasing rib ( ) enters the slot ( ) and engages the engaging projection ( ). Thus, the elastic latch ( ) retracts elastically toward an escape space ( ) and releases a locking condition between the latch projection ( ) and the mateable latch ( ).
