Abstract

A chip conveyor (K) which receives chips delivered from a machine tool (MC) in a receiving area (R ) transfers chips to a delivery position a specified distance apart from the receiving area, and is provided with an endless carrier ( ) rotatably in a specified direction to deliver chips at the delivery position, characterized in that a passage ranging from the receiving area to the delivery position is used as a go route (R ) for the carrier, a passage ranging from the delivery position back to the receiving position is used as a return route (R ) for the carrier, and a separating device ( ) which separates chips from the carrier by allowing liquid to act on the chips adhering to the carrier which passes the delivery position so that their adhesiveness is reduced or eliminated is installed in the return route, whereby the residual chips can be removed efficiently from the carrier so as to increase the durability of the carrier and a drive mechanism.
