Abstract
A retainer ( ) has side plates ( ) that slide against sliding-contact surfaces ( ) of a female housing ( ). Each sliding-contact surface ( ) has an obliquely extending guide rib ( ) and a locking projection ( ) below the guide rib ( ). The inner surface of each side plate ( ) has a guide groove ( ) into which the guide rib ( ) is fittable and a locking hole ( ) into which the locking projection ( ) is fittable. Terminal fittings ( ) are inserted into cavities ( ) of the housing ( ) and then the retainer ( ) is pushed along the guide ribs ( ) to a full locking position where the front edges of the side plates ( ) contact the front edges of the sliding-contact surfaces ( ) and the locking projections ( ) are located in the locking holes ( ) to doubly lock the terminal fittings ( ) in the cavities ( ).
