Abstract
An interrupter switch mechanism , an actuator mechanism for operating the switch mechanism , an engagement arm such as a whip, a first resistor , a second resistor , a drive mechanism for pivoting the engagement arm into contact with the resistors and , and a drive shaft . The drive mechanism has a first hub , a second hub that is biased relative to the first hub , and a pivotal latch member that is biased towards an engaged position with the second hub . The drive shaft sequentially operates the drive mechanism to introduce the first resistor and then the second resistor , and then operates the actuator to close the switch mechanism , for reducing electrical disturbances when switching a capacitor bank into an electric power circuit
