Abstract
An apparatus for providing a flat panel display device such as a liquid crystal display device, which allows a liquid crystal panel supported by a supporting member to be easily attached to a device by means of automation. According to this flat panel display, a recess is formed in a thick part . A flexible interconnection board is introduced into the recess via an opening recess . The part of the flexible interconnection board introduced in the recess is reinforced by a stiffener adhesively bonded to the flexible interconnection board . The stiffener is firmly attached to the bottom face of the recess via fixing means . A rubber connector is adhesively bonded to the surface, opposite to the adhesive surface to which the stiffener is bonded, of the flexible interconnection board . The rubber connector is formed of an elastic base member made of synthetic rubber or the like and a large number of conductive wires extending through the elastic base member in a direction from the front to back sides of the elastic base member
