Abstract
A vehicle headlamp housing is naturally ventilated by a temperature difference between air inside and air outside the lamp housing, to prevent the temperature of a lighting control circuit from increasing and to reduce thermal loads applied to circuit elements. The lamp housing includes a first opening lower than, and a second opening higher than the lighting control circuit. The first opening permits air access to a space, where the lighting control circuit is contained. The second opening also permits air access to the space. The lamp housing may be constructed so that space is naturally ventilated by the first and second openings. Additionally, a labyrinth arrangement or a filter arrangement can be used to govern the flow of air into the vehicle headlamp while excluding debris.
