Abstract
Method and apparatus for removably affixing a wheel assembly ( ) near the end and the edge of a leg ( ) of nearly any existing or newly manufactured ladder ( ) to aid a person ( ) transporting the ladder ( ). A preferred embodiment includes a first wheel ( ) and a second wheel ( ) whose axles ( ) are disposed orthogonally. Each axle ( ) is supported by a bracket ( ) coupled to a clamp frame ( ) which is clamped to said leg ( ). When the ladder ( ) is placed, edge parallel to a supporting surface ( ), and a person ( ) carries the opposite end of the ladder, the wheel ( ) will roll on that surface ( ). When the ladder ( ) face is placed parallel to a supporting surface ( ) and a person ( ) carries the opposite end of the ladder, the wheel ( ) will roll on that surface ( ). The wheel ( ) will carry a large portion of the weight of the ladder ( ). For persons who use ladders frequently, the system can prevent personal injuries. The wheel assembly ( ) does not interfere with erection or use of the ladder ( ).
