Abstract

A knife having a handle ( ), at least one blade ( ) mounted so that it can pivot on the handle ( ) between a position in which it is retracted into the handle ( ) and an open work position, and a member ( ) for locking the blade ( ) in the open position. In the open position, the blade makes an angle with respect to the main direction of the handle that is appreciably greater than 10° and appreciably smaller than 90°, preferably between 20° and 60°, and preferably roughly equal to 40°. The knife has application as a two-bladed electrician's knife for cutting and stripping electric cables.
