Abstract
A drum brake device having a brake lever with sufficient rigidity, and securing a larger space at a central region of a brake in order to provide a long, effective brake lever stroke. A by-pass hole through which the shoe-hold pin swingably rising from the back plate penetrates, is formed in the brake lever positioned beneath the shoe web of the brake shoe and the bending sections are integrally formed toward the back plate at the outermost circumferential edge portion of the brake lever surrounding the by-pass hole
