Abstract
The invention relates to a deflection method for deflecting a strip ( ), especially a metal strip ( ), from an initial guide channel ( ) to a final guide channel ( ) which runs next to said initial guide channel ( ). When passing through the initial guide channel ( ), the strip ( ) comprises an underside (II) which faces away from the final guide channel ( ) and has an upper side (I) which faces toward the final guide channel ( ). In order to support the deflection of the metal strip ( ) from the initial guide channel ( ) to the final guide channel ( ), the invention provides that the strip ( ) is subjected to the action of a medium ( ) on the underside (II) thereof during the deflection. The invention also relates to a corresponding deflection device.
