Abstract

In order to measure forces F exerted on a part in a given direction and in the presence of an external pressure p, the part has integrated therein a sensor ( ) which delivers an output signal of the form S=&agr;.F+&bgr;.p+&ggr;, and said sensor is dimensioned in such a manner as to cause the coefficient &bgr; to be zero. To this end, a sensor ( ) is used that includes a tube ( ) formed by a thinner walled portion ( ) and a thicker walled portion ( ), together with strain gauges ( ) mounted in the tube ( ) and interconnected to form a Wheatstone bridge.
