Spinning reel spool made lightweight overall, while maintaining the strength of its bobbin trunk and skirt. The spinning reel spool body ( ) has a tubular bobbin trunk ( ), and a larger diameter skirt ( ) attached to the rear end of the bobbin trunk ( ). The bobbin trunk ( ) chiefly includes a bulkier bobbin portion ( ) of synthetic polymer manufacture, and a base portion ( ) formed unitarily with and on the inner peripheral side of the bobbin portion ( ). The skirt ( ) is of an aluminum alloy manufacture, and is formed at lesser bulk by press-working a tubular portion ( ) and a rear flange portion ( ) unitarily.
