Abstract
A linear measuring device having a mounting fixture ( ), in which a scale ( ) is supported is described. Scale ( ) is coupled to the mounting fixture ( ) in one plane (N ) of the mounting fixture ( ), which contains the neutral axis (N) of the mounting fixture ( ) and which runs in parallel with the surface of the scale ( ) bearing the graduation scale ( ). This arrangement reduces perturbations transmitted to scale ( ).
