Abstract

A method for reducing rub-off from a substrate having a front side and a back side with at least one side bearing a toner image by depositing a substantially clear phase change composition onto a rotary brush in contact with the substrate using a ribbon or diffusion process printer with the phase change composition being transferred from the brush to the substrate in an amount sufficient to reduce rub-off from the side of the substrate bearing a toner image. The printer and a second rotary brush may be also used to deposit a clear phase change composition onto a non-image bearing backside of the substrate.
