Abstract

The present invention provides an organic EL device that allows the obtaining of favorable color emission with high efficiency. The organic EL device of the present invention has at least an emission layer and an electron transporting layer between an anode and cathode and an intermediate layer is provided between the emission layer and electron transporting layer that has a film thickness of 1 to 20 nm and is comprised of a material having an ionization potential larger than that of the material used for the emission layer
