Abstract
A prism ( ) has a first inner surface ( A) and a second inner surface ( ) in its interior. The first inner surface ( A) performs total reflection of all rays ( ) entering from the exterior, and is disposed apart from a variable mirror element ( ) disposed in the exterior, such that the reflected rays are irradiated to the variable mirror element ( ). The second inner surface ( ) is disposed in proximity to the variable mirror element ( ), and totally reflects a bundle of OFF rays from the variable mirror element ( ), while allowing a bundle of ON rays from the variable mirror element ( ) to pass therethrough.
