Abstract

A driving means is placed below a photoconductor drum . The driving means includes first to fourth developing rollers A- D and toner storage chambers A- D. The developing means can be shifted by a developing-device moving motor to bring one of the developing rollers A- D which corresponds to one of liquid toners A- D to be developed in close to the photoconductor drum , followed by developing a latent image formed by an exposure. At this time, the distance between one of the developing rollers A- D and the photoconductor drum can be appropriately adjusted. In addition, before the development, meniscus of the liquid toner is quickly formed between the developing rollers A- D and the photoconductor drum by rotating the development rollers A- at the rotation speed higher than the rotation speed thereof at the development.
