Abstract

In a method and device for continuously wrapping products ( ), while the products ( ) are being fed continuously at a first speed (V ) along an intermediate portion ( ) of a first path (P ) and in a first direction (D ), together with their intermediate wrappers ( ), the latter having a first and a second wing ( ), projection from, and on opposite sides of a surface ( ) of the product ( ), the wings ( ) make contact with a first folder ( ) that moves at a second speed (V ) which is faster than the first speed (V ) in a second direction (D ) coinciding with the first speed (D ) along a section ( ) of a second a path (P ). The section ( ) substantially coincides with the intermediate portion ( ) of the first path (P ), so as to enable the first folder ( ) to fold the first wing ( ) towards the surface ( ) of the product ( ) and the second wing ( ) away from the surface ( ) until the second wing is in a position such that it extends from the surface ( ) in the same plane, and where a gumming device ( ) gums a portion of the wing ( ), after which a second folder ( ) folds the second wing ( ) back towards the surface ( ) so that its gummed portion comes into contact with the first wing ( )
