Abstract
The invention relates to a data processing device comprising a database management system ( ). The management system ( ) can cooperate with an operating system so as to allow the user the creation/input and/or the use of a database comprising at least one data table ( ) which can be broken down into rows and columns. According to the invention, the device furthermore comprises: an autonomous meta-dictionary ( ) for dynamically storing chosen information relating to the structure of each table of the database, and to the relationships between tables, an analysis means ( ) capable of determining and of storing at least temporarily a representation of groups of interrelated columns, and a restructuring module ( ) capable of cooperating with the analysis means and the meta-dictionary with a view to establishing for the user a presentation of the database which takes account of at least one group of thus related columns.
