Abstract

The invention describes a cathode ray tube in which the position of the electron beam ( ) is determined in that detection strips ( ) are arranged between or below the individual phosphor strips of the phosphor layer ( ). The detection strips ( ) each comprise a semiconductor component which amplifies the measured current signal. This renders the position determination of the electron beam ( ) more definite and reproducible.
