Abstract

In a liquid crystal display panel, a gap between an array substrate and an opposing substrate is made constant by using spacers mixed in a seal agent provided around a display area A. A bottom-up pattern formed in the same layer as that of a light shield is formed in a seal area B and a leveling layer on the seal area B is made thinner in order to minimize an amount of sink of the spacers into the leveling layer thereby make the gap between the substrates uniform.
