Abstract

An upper case is pivotable with respect to a case by attachment with two frames . A sheet-supply tray is pivotably mounted on the upper case . The sheet-supply tray has a pair of left and right guides at a position near a sheet-supply port . The guides have a pair of separation ribs that define therebelow a sheet-supply pathway and thereabove a sheet discharge pathway. A synthetic resin hollow frame with an integral slide rib is fixed to the case . The slide rib is formed with an outwardly curving surface that is eccentric with an imaginary circle around a pivot shaft of the upper case , wherein the free end of the slide rib is farther from the shaft than the fixed end. A horizontally protruding pin is fixed on one of the frames , and so pivots following the imaginary circle around the shaft . When the upper case is pivoted wide open, the pin pressingly slides against the outwardly curving surface of the slide rib , until the pin reaches near the free end of the outwardly curving surface , where the pin is held in a desired opened position.
