Abstract
A motion artifact reduction system ( ) includes a series of cinematic feature image frames (IF , IF )captured at an incoming frame rate. The motion artifact reduction system ( ) also has a processor ( ) operable to determine whether an object (O) having a first location (O ) in a first image frame (IF ) is sufficiently displaced from a location (O ) in a second image frame (IF ) corresponding to the first location (O ). The processor ( ) is also operable to interpolate data from the first image frame (IF ) and the second image frame (IF ) to create a third image frame (OF ) including the interpolated data. The processor ( ) is also operable to insert the third image frame (OF ) between the first image frame (IF ) and the second image frame (IF ) to form a new series (OF , OF , and OF ) in response to the determination that object (O) has been sufficiently displaced between image frames (IF , IF ).
