Abstract
In a press-connecting connector ( ), a receiving width (W ) between side walls ( ) of a connector housing ( ) is larger than a width (W ) of the press-connecting portion, and a gap (g) is formed between each press-connecting blade ( ) and the corresponding side wall ( ). In a wire press-fitting apparatus ( ), a lower end surface ( ) of each of press-connecting blade pressing portions ( ) is flat. The lower end surfaces ( ) of the press-connecting blade pressing portions ( ) are brought into abutting engagement with upper end surfaces ( ) of the press-connecting blades ( ), respectively, and a lower end surface ( ) of a press-fitting rod portion ( ) forces an electric wire ( ) into a gap (G) between downwardly-extending inner surfaces ( ). As a result, the pair of press-connecting blades ( ) are displaced respectively toward the side walls ( ), so that the gap (G) between the downwardly-extending inner surfaces ( ) is expanded into a generally V-shape. Therefore, edges ( ), formed respectively along bladed, tapering guide surfaces ( ), can properly cut a sheath ( ) of the electric wire ( ) without excessively cut a conductor ( ) of the electric wire ( ).
