Abstract

A technique is provided for eliminating on-screen display irregularities or defects otherwise occurring due to re-attachment of flying fragments or the presence of residual cutaway portions during electrode cutting processes using laser light. During manufacture of an active-matrix substrate, a separator section is used to connect image signal electrode lead terminals in common together to an electrostatic protective lead to perform electrostatic protection of thin-film transistors, and the separator section is comprised of a laminated structure of a low-resistivity metal layer and high-melting-point metal layer.
