Abstract

A method and a configuration are provided for monitoring a regeneratable NO -storage device in an exhaust gas line, in particular of a Diesel or a lean-burn engine, through which an NO -containing gas flows. A temperature measurement is carried out in the exhaust gas line and the operability, operating condition and/or storage capacity of the NO -storage device is inferred from the temperature measurement.
