Abstract
Methods for inducing interleukin-12 production and inducing a type 1/Th1 T cell response in a subject, thereby stimulating cell-mediated immunity for prevention or treatment of pathogen infections or treatment of a interferon (-sensitive tumor, are provided. Compounds effective in the above-described methods include a lipopeptide having an N-terminal ester- or amide-linked fatty acyl group and are administered in an amount effective to induce interleukin-12 and to induce the type 1/Th1 T-cell response.
