Abstract
A spread illuminating apparatus radiating heat generated by a spot-like light source. The apparatus includes a metal enclosure ( ) integrally formed at an end of a metal frame ( ) so as to enclose a cover portion ( ) which receives a spot-like light source ( ) and dummy patterns ( ) provided on inner surfaces of the first, second and third face portions ( ) of the cover portion ( ). The enclosure ( ) functions as a heat sink and conducts heat generated by the spot-like light source ( ) outwardly for radiation. Heat is conducted owing to the dummy patterns ( ).
