0 A vehicle peripheral-area display apparatus comprising: a camera ( ) for picking up images of a peripheral area of a vehicle ( ); an integration processing unit ( ) for detecting the vehicle's own position as positional information via a vehicle sensor ( ); a memory ( ) for storing present picture data as to the peripheral area of the vehicle picked up by the camera ( ), and also for storing positional information as to the picked up images of peripheral area of the vehicle; a picture composite unit ( ) for reading past picture data corresponding to the positional information from the memory ( ) by way of a memory control unit ( ), and for combining own vehicle shape data “x” with this past picture data; and a display control unit ( ) for displaying the picture data combined by this picture composite process unit ( ) on a monitor display unit ( ). As a result, this vehicle peripheral-area display apparatus of the present invention can display not only the road surface of the lower portion of the vehicle body of this vehicle, but also the past peripheral-area.
