Abstract
A cathode ray tube having a reduced variation in convergence drift. An inner graphite layer coats the inner surface of a funnel, and a metal coating layer is electrically connected with the inner graphite layer on the inner surface of the neck portion. The metal coating layer does not extend to a position directly beside the focusing electrode most remote from the cathode of the electron gun of the cathode ray tube, and has a surface resistivity of 10 &OHgr;/□ or less.
